A big night for Trevor. Not only did he earn his Orange Belt, but he was selected to lead the class in its test. Since he has never done this before, he was a bit nervous but he did a great job. Then I lined up across from him for the rest of the test which included his self defense and breaking. The cool part was that Conor was my Dream Team assistant so he was handing me the board and belt...how cool is that? A family affair in martial arts...like we say..." The family that kicks together, sticks together!"
Early night tonight...Conor and I test in the morning...early morning!
One treat we got to witness was a part of the 2nd Dan Black Belt test for several students. The test consisted of taking a kendo sword and striking at a lit candle. The objective is to put out the candle without touching it with an overhead strike. It's not as easy as it sounds.
