Things I've learned

I suppose one is never too old to learn new things. So I should not be surprised about the events that unfolded in Vegas. Let me set you up.

George and I were hungry, Barb wasn't feeling well, so we set out to nail some nummies. We decided to stop in Lillie's Noodle House. The place was quite dark and comfy...I loved it. After perusing the menu, I settled on favorite of mine, General Tso's Chicken. Now, I like things spicy and that particular dish usually does the job, but...

Here is the lesson...

NEVER...NEVER...request "extra spicy" from a chef you do not know!!!

George says that my request was taken as "smack talk" by the chef, so he chose to show me a lesson. Makes sense to me.

After 2 bites, I looked over at George and said "I'm in trouble". After the 3rd bite I lost my voice. The dish looked and smelled great, and the taste?? Awesome!! and the heat??? a 25 on a scale from 1-10...good God!

Now it was my turn...this was a challenge I could not back away from. The only problem was that there was no chocolate milk nearby to knocfk out the heat. All I had was water, hot tea, and warm sake...not the best choices for my situation but that's the hand I was dealt...dealt hand...Vegas...get it? Oh well, moving on!

I managed to eat all but 3-4 pieces...I was stuffed...and in pain. The back of my neck was soaked and my hair was matted.

Lesson learned?? We'll see!
