Oh HELL Yeah!

I'm now back in the ranks of the employed!!

I accepted an offer from Kroger's for a Co-Manager position. I'll make a base pay of much more than RS's manager base. With bonuses, I would make more at RS but bonuses can't be counted on or budgeted for, so this will be much, much better.

To celebrate, I bought a few Excalibur Dragon Series chips. I'll keep searching until I complete the set. Once I receive them, I'll post pics...really!

Now it's time for some congratulatory WOW!

So this is what it's like...

I actually got to spend time with the family on the day after Thanksgiving! Keep in mind that for the last 21years I have spent the entire day running around like crazy, or being stuck behind the sales counter.

I got to get up late, eat, watch TV, play some World of Warcraft, and yes...I got to go shopping myself. Mary Beth and I hit the streets in search of presents for the kids. And we did well. Can't discuss it of course but rest assured they will be pretty happy Christmas morning.

How nice it was to go to a store that had plenty of the advertised items. How nice it was to get miffed at all the pushy customers without having to put on the "Happy Face". Heck, it was even fun going to Kroger's for groceries.

I could get used to this.

Oh My Gawd...It's just a Game!

Yep....I spend a ridiculous amount of time playing World of Warcraft. I have a lot of fun with it playing with and against other people from around the world. I spend $15/month to play all I want. Cool.

I know exactly what I'm getting.

About the X-Box 360...

There are people waiting in line at stores...camping out...for a shot at this thing. Most stores are only getting a small amount...Nice going Microsoft. I would bet that most...90%...of these will end up on eBay...think I'm wrong?

At 7:20am EST there were over 7400 eBay entries for the X-Box 360...some were scams too...selling a password to then sell another...Woot!

There were bids over $1200 for the console. For a console!

Now...the question remains...the morons paying this absurd amount...are you going to play it? Or are you going to try to resell it? Good luck.

I would bet that I could get one before Christmas for the retail price. But then, why would I want to? Oh yeah, the kids want one. Hmmm... then maybe they will leave my laptop alone for me to play WOW. Guess I better get in line.

Well, I just finished taking 2 assessment surveys for a new position with a major retail chain for entry level management. I'm not mentioning the name just yet because I don't want to jinx anything. It's a significant job. Even though I have over 27 years retail experience with 18 of those in management, I'll be starting over completely.

Hopefully I'll hear from them soon and on to my 2nd interview...WOOT! Back in the workforce.

And to my old company...RS...up yours! I'll never set foot in one of your stores regardless if you are the only supplier of what I need...I'll just do without. You treat your employees like garbage and show no loyalty what so ever to employees who have stuck with you through the bad times.
