This has been fun...sorta

Well, after about a month with Kroger's I can say that I am enjoying things quite a bit. I'm learning a lot and have developed a huge appreciation for what many of us take for granted. My only dislike has been the unusual scheduling for instance next week I work 2 days from 8pm to 5am and 2 days from 3am to 12pm...yuck. However, it is vital that I see how things work during all shifts and departments so it is not a big deal...I'm just happy to be employed again!

I like the 5 day weeks and constant motion...there is never a down time. Also, the week after Christmas is typically slow unlike what I had been doing for the last 21 years so that's been a treat of some sorts.

I learned that one of my former employees at RS, who was running the largest store in the region, quit right before Christmas...good for him! He felt that he wasn't getting the support from the district manager that was needed...that figures. The current DM is quite the putz, has little to no people skills, and is basically a puppet for an even more inept regional manager. The only reason the RS is showing any kind of positive numbers is because things have been so bad the last couple of years the only direction was up...if only a little.

Screw them.

The funny thing is that I am required to do many things now that are standard operating procedures. Several of these things are similar to what RS was adopting when I left and I didn't like them at all...perhaps I really did stay there too long. I have no probs with my daily tasks and duties and in fact I enjoy doing them while I resented them at RS. I guess I wanted out and just couldn't convince myself of that. RS still sucks though as they have proven many times over that employee loyalty means nothing but ramming cell phones down the throats of customers means everything. Bah!

I am the Champion!

League Champion
Lord Cow's Army

After 16 grueling weeks of pigskin battles, I have emerged as the winner of our league...WOOT!!!

This was my 3rd year in Fantasy Football, each year getting better as I did more research and planned my teams a few weeks in advance to take care of byes, matchups...etc.

Now I can simply cheer for my fav teams instead of pouring over stats.
