I really need to get back to...

...the Golden Nugget in Vegas.

Mary Beth has no desire to go back there and the kids are still too young.

~sigh~

Hopefully, I'll have the chance in 2008 for the Chip Convention. Since Mary Beth and the kids have gone to Disney several times without me (hmmmpf!), I should be able to buzz out there for a couple of days right? It's not my fault that I don't get 5 weeks of vacation a year anymore and the time I do get off, they have planned their trip already. It would cost too much to board the cats anyway.

Well...The GN is the place I'll go...when I go.

And here's why...not to mention that it's my favorite place.

In the stagnant sea of mediocrity that is downtown Las Vegas, the Golden Nugget is doing more than just staying afloat.

The largest casino downtown, along with a sister Golden Nugget in Laughlin, is managing to turn a profit for its corporate owners.

That's My Boy!!

Well...after 12 long years my oldest, Trevor, graduated from High School today. It's been tough at times, getting him to complete his work. The pictures of him in kindergarten are still on the wall next to the kitchen and I can hardly believe it's the same child.

I'm getting old.

Taking him to school across the county because of the programs he wanted to take, going to the football games and basketball games to hear him play. Going to his concerts when no one else wanted to and because I enjoyed them.

The memories are many, and hopefully not fleeting.

Even meeting his friends online in WOW, then meeting them in person was a treat.

And today...watching him walk across the stage to receive his diploma. It was tough to hold back the tears...trust me.

My boy has grown up, my God, where has the time gone?

I give him grief...a lot. We argue constantly. We have the same taste in music...almost. I can still kick his butt...maybe. We are both content with doing nothing but sleeping and playing video games and I doubt he would believe me if he heard me say this, but...

I love him very much and I am so very proud of him.

Way to go Trevor! Congratulations!

Now go get a job!

HAHAHAHAHAHA...I couldn't resist!

Sneaky

The Flamingo released a $25 Derby chip and didn't tell anybody! Apparently, it was a promotion on Derby and they were cashing them out to patrons.

Well, a fellow chipper, who I had helped locate some chips for a couple of years ago, emailed me to let me know of the chips and to inform me that he had one for me too!

Awesome!

It's now here, displayed with the rest of his buddies. What a great family of folk the chipping commnity is. Want a picture? LOL Sometime soon...I need to work on my Lvl 22 Warlock now.

I am sooooo happy...

to have left RadioShack. Yeah...I'm naming names now. That viper pit of soul sucking, moronically managed fools. Almost 2 years ago I "retired" from there after 21 years of faithful service. I ran a clean, very profitable operation. The key word is profitable because there were many managers who, while posting good sales, ran negative profit. But...because their sales were so spectacular, they were rewarded with promotions and accolades. Let's not mention those who admitted to losing control their operations, costing the company tens of thousands of dollars in "lost" inventory. They are still employed there...oh my God. The pure definition of stupidity.

The only redeeming thing I can think of is that the anal orifice who let me "retire" was eventually fired because he couldn't keep his johnson zipped up. Personally...I hope the thing rots off.

Anyway, I get a call last night from Oxmoor Security saying that the back door to my store was open.

WHAT?

I informed the officer that I no longer was employed there and in fact it had been 2 years since managed that store. The officer then asked about another employee who used to work there under me...and is no longer there. The officer just kind of chuckled and made a reference to the efficiency of the current staff...I agreed. He apologized and electronically went on his way.

2 years...2 years it's been and no one has thought to contact the mall office and change the contact information.

MORONS!!

Can you tell I've recently quit smoking?
