August 3rd...a day among days

That day invokes a lot of mixed feelings...good, bad, and "what the Hell were they thinking?"

First off, it's Mary Beth's and my Anniversary. Nineteen years and going...has it been that long? Wow...it really does feel like yesterday. Most of our married friends have since split up and moved on yet here we are...for better or worse.

Secondly, it's the anniversary of Mom's death. She passed in 2001 after a bout with lung cancer. I think about her often and can still hear her voice. I would love to join George and Barb at the chip convention to pay some homage to Mom at the Golden Nugget tables and slots. That was her favorite gaming spot. I can think of no better way to celebrate her life than to run a bunch of rolls of coins throught the machines there. Next year...for sure.

Lastly, filling out the WTH were "they" thinking...is that August 3rd is also Zelda's birthday. The other 2 cats we're not sure about, but we do know that Zelda was born on the day of Mom's death and our Anniversary. The reason I say "they" is that I had no participation in getting this or any of the cats...in fact I attribute bad things happening in my life to them. Zelda arrived the day I had hernia surgery...for whatever reason, the family thought it would be most fun to toss the kitten on me when they arrived home with her. Not the best plan since I was stitched up and in considerable pain. It's been downhill with the cats since then! We got Zoe on the day I found out I was being moved from my St. Matthews RadioShack to the "hood" Shack at Eastern Parkway. Can't remember what bad thing happened when we got Zippy, my mind has been dulled since then, but I'm sure there was something.

Things are looking up

After fretting over an impending assignment to a store that I really did not want to go to, I received a message yesterday that I would be staying at my current store for the time being.

YES!!

Actually, I had already started to look for other work and entertained the idea of starting an eBay biz dealing casino chips...hmmmm I may do that anyway for "mad" money.

Anyway, the folks at my store are pretty happy. I guess they like me.
