It's the morning of Selection Sunday, and the folks in this area are wondering 2 things:
Will the U of L Cards get their deserved #1 seed?
What seed will the mildcats get in the NIT? *snicker*
To be fair, a lot of good teams go to the NIT simply because an undeserving team gets lucky and wins its conference tourney to bet the NCAA automatic bid. Anyone who says the NCAA Tourney has the 65 best teams in it does not have a clue about college basketball.
But then, there are the mildcats.
Why am I talking about them? Because some of the snarky, pompous UK fans have it coming. They tire me.
I don't really need to talk about U of L's Men's and Women's teams. I think they've done their talking well enough.
I don't ask for much, my wants are relatively simple.
It doesn't take much to make me happy.
I've been told I have exhibited more patience than I should (that's debatable).
I overlook a lot, and just chalk it up as that's the way things are.
I'm far from perfect, and never claim to be remotely close.
But, I can also be hurt.
Those who know me well, will have an idea just what I'm talking about. Those who don't, I will not explain.
Today, I was hurt. Not because of something that happened, but because of something that didn't.
There's a rumbling around here. Poeple are growing wary of its presence. There is no denying of the powerful force making its way to...
The NCAA Tournament.
The mighty U of L Cardinals captured the Big East title yesterday. The meat grinder league that it is has 3 legitimate number one seeds in it. The Cards have done all they could to stake their claim. Great job guys!
Heck, the first 2 rounds of the tourney should be a breather for you. Good luck!
And for Mildcat fans? *chuckle*
